Our Story

Dottie & Thread was born from love—love for family, for tradition, and for those little treasured moments. 

Dottie was my mother and she was born on the first day of spring. She believed in putting your best foot forward. Her hair was done everyday and her nails once a week. She had three daughters and loved flowers, her cocker spaniel, Tippy, and watching her children and grandchildren grow up. Her closet was impeccable and well sourced and she believed in quality over quantity. She passed that spirit on to me, and now it lives on in every piece we make.

This shop began with a new chapter in our family: the arrival of my two great-granddaughters, followed by my granddaughter in just three short years. Watching them grow, laugh, and explore the world stirred something in me—a desire to create clothing as soft, pure, and joyful as their childhood should be.

At Dottie & Thread, we specialize in children’s dresses designed for ages 12 months through 3T. Each piece is made from 100% cotton, chosen for comfort, breathability, and durability—because little ones deserve to feel as good as they look. We also offer thoughtfully designed accessories and bathing suits to complement our collections.

What makes us truly special is how we create. Every item is crafted in our family-owned and operated workshop in Arizona. This isn’t mass production—it’s hands, hearts, and generations working together. We take pride in every stitch, knowing these garments will be part of birthdays, family photos, first steps, and everyday magic.
